A few months back, in the July issue, I wrote about recording acoustic instruments that—outside of bluegrass sessions—aren’t exactly everyday visitors to the studio: violin, mandolin, banjo and dobro.

This month, I’d like to continue that journey by highlighting some “other” acoustic instruments that may occasionally wander into your sessions, looking for a sympathetic engineer ready to capture their unique magic.
